Author's Supervision of Renovations in Astana
Author's supervision of interior design in Astana from BStudio.kz is regular renovation control against the approved drawings — from the crew's first day on site to the final sign-off. That's how the project ends up exactly as it was designed.
What author's supervision is
Author's supervision is professional control of the renovation by the project's own designer. It includes regular site visits, checking that the completed work matches the approved drawings, approving material substitutions when needed, and liaising with the contractor on the client's behalf. Without it, even the most carefully worked-out project risks turning out differently than intended.
Why you need it
Builders and finishers usually work on several sites at once and often deviate from the project: outlets placed incorrectly, a different ceiling cornice height, a material swapped without the client's approval. Most such deviations get hidden under later layers of finishing and only surface at the final walkthrough — when redoing the work costs several times more.
Author's supervision catches and fixes deviations promptly, before they become a hidden defect. It protects your investment and preserves the quality of the interior you had in mind.
How author's supervision works at BStudio.kz
- 01
Start of works
Once the working drawings are approved, we set a schedule of site visits and align it with the construction crew and the client.
- 02
Regular site visits
1–2 times a week, or on request. We check the work against the drawings, measure critical details, and record any deviations.
- 03
Reports and decisions
After every visit, the client receives a photo report listing the issues found and the decisions made. You always know what's happening on site.
- 04
Final sign-off
We take part in the handover: checking every remaining issue, signing the acceptance certificate and handing over the as-built documentation.
Cost and terms
The cost of author's supervision depends on the area of the space, how long the renovation takes and how often we visit. For apartments in Astana, the base rate starts from 10% of the design project's cost. Author's supervision can be ordered separately (including for someone else's design project) or as part of the studio's full service package.
It's especially useful if you live in another city and can't check the site every day, if the crew has no experience building from a design project, or if the project has non-standard structural solutions. The exact quote is given at a free consultation.
You need author's supervision if
- You live in another city
- The crew hasn't built from a design project before
